By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent

Belfast, Ireland (November 20th, 2017)– The Guinness Book of World Records had the world record for the fastest professional boxing world title win of 17 seconds held by Daniel Jimenez eclipsed at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland, when Zolani Tete, 26-3, 21 knockouts, Eastern Cape, South Africa, won the full World Boxing Organization World Bantamweight title by knocking out Siboniso Gonya, 11-2, five knockouts, a Zululand, Natal, South Africa, who had never been knocked out previously. Tete won the interim WBO bantamweight title in his previous bout by defeating Arthur Villanueva.

The bout was stopped immediately, with Gonya out on his back for a full five minutes while being attended to by medical personnel. 13 of Tete’s 21 knockouts have been in the first round, the fastest of which was 10 seconds, recorded mostly against lower level opposition.
