Golden Gloves Champion Trevis Hall AKA Black Mama is Convicted

New York, NY (July 23rd, 2017)– Trevis Hall, a Guyana boxer fighting out of Queens, New York known the ‘Black Mama’, the 2009 New York City Bantamweight Golden Gloves champion, who was a New York City Golden Gloves semifinalist at bantamweight in the 2010 and 2011 open class, , and a 2012 New Jersey Elite Heat Bantamweight amateur boxing champion, has been convicted of murder and other charges in the stabbing and bludgeoning death of his ex-girlfriend Margarita Rivera on December 1, 2014, in Jamaica Queens.

 

Hall was subsequently found in a dumpster after a attempting suicide, and had a receipt in his pocket for the metal pipe recovered at the murder scene which was one of the weapons used. Hall was also seen on video footage from Home Depot earlier in the day buying the pipe recovered at the scene. Hall faces 25 years to life when he is sentenced in September.

 

Hall compiled a professional record of 6-1-1 between 2011 and 2014, and was interviewed by this reporter in Atlantic City immediately after the start of his professional career.  He seemed to be a fine young man, full of promise, and excited about his future possibilities.
