Swift Garcia vs One Time Thurman, Dawson vs. Fonfara Barclays Center Previews

Brooklyn, NY (February 23rd, 2017)– The big boxing card is approaching on March 4, 2017, with Danny ‘Swift’ Garcia facing Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman in the World Boxing Council and World Boxing Association Super Welterweight title unification main event. Thurman, 27-0 with 22 knockouts, Clearwater, Florida, probably cannot wait for the golden opportunity to take on both Danny Garcia and his dad Angel Garcia on CBS television in less than ten days.
Danny Garcia, 33-0 with 19 knockouts, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has a great chance of winning his March 4, 2017, date of destiny against Thurman at Barclays Center. No doubt, Garcia versus Thurman will be considerably more exciting (for what the statement is worth) than the preliminary to the main event. In an ‘ask me if I care preliminary bout, the other bout features two first round losers. Chad Dawson, who lost in the first round to Adonis Stevenson, and Andrzej Fonfara, who lost in the first round to Joe Smith Jr., in a scheduled 10 round light heavyweight confrontation clash. Dawson, who has won his last two bouts, might be catching Fonfara at the right time. If Dawson wins, he could be fed later in 2017 as dog meat to Andre Ward, perhaps the purpose of reviving Dawson on this card. Fonfara is predicted to win by 10 round decision, or Dawson by stoppage in eight or nine rounds if Fonfara fades in the second half of what should prove to be a highly technical bout, where defense will be a major key in who wins.
Danny Garcia is like Cherry Garcia ice cream. Like cherries on the vine, as the late Al Jarreau used to sing, Danny gets sweeter all the time. Keith Thurman will try to sour the milk. It’s all about the big almighty dollar bill. Danny Garcia and Keith Thurman are great fighters. The winner of this mega bout could be advanced into a welterweight super fight with Errol Spence, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Erislandy Lara or Canelo. Who knows?
The win in Garcia versus Thurman will go to the fighter who gets off first, sets the tempo of the bout, and puts technical rounds in the bank. Garcia could knock Thurman down. Thurman could fight furiously on the inside and keep many rounds close, making the late rounds-and who wins them-key to who emerges victorious in this bout.
Thurman is predicted to win a 12 round decision by the odds makers.
Thurman falls a wee bit short of expectations for career achievement. This is the biggest fight for both combatants. Of course, if Thurman could knock Garcia out or stops him, he can win. To do that would require a much different fight than the experts anticipate, and a superior Keith Thurman game fight. The bout promises to be an outstanding technical war, and if push comes to shove, it could get very dirty and very bloody. Whoever wins, Floyd is bound to be watching. If Floyd doesn’t want to fight MMA fighter Conor McGregor, the winner of Garcia versus Thurman could be the reasonable Floyd comeback alternative.
