Bellator & BAMMA join forces for December in Dublin!
Dublin, Ireland– December 16th 2016 will mark a historic day in the MMA calendar, as two of the world’s largest MMA promotions join forces to deliver a Christmas extravaganza in Dublin.
BAMMA and Bellator will take over the 3Arena in Dublin on the evening of 16th December, with fight fans getting two fantastic cards featuring a host of the world’s leading MMA athletes, all wrapped up in one event.
It’s going to be the biggest and boldest MMA show in Ireland this year, as fans get the chance to get up close and personal with MMA superstars from both promotions including King Mo, James Gallagher and Tom Duquesnoy.
BAMMA bouts announced so far:
BAMMA 27 Main Event – BAMMA Bantamweight Title
Tom ‘Firekid’ Duquesnoy (c) Vs. Alan ‘The Apprentice’ Philpott
It was the fight before Christmas and the French phenom, Tom ‘Firekid’ Duquesnoy (13-1-1) has been on a tear of late through the best fighters that Europe has to offer, most recently defeating the double tough Shay Walsh to claim his second divisional World Title at BAMMA 25. Stepping up to a challenge he has been calling for, number one contender & Lonsdale Bantamweight title holder Alan ‘The Apprentice’ Philpott (16-8) says he has the game plan that will unseat the surging Frenchman. Philpott himself has been defeating various prospects and securing the Lonsdale title in the process to garner his shot against the Champion.
In a battle that will have the hometown audiences turning the 3Arena into a cauldron, Duquesnoy Vs. Philpott headlines what is set to be most exciting MMA event of 2016.
BAMMA Featherweight Title
Ronnie ‘Iron’ Mann Vs. Martin ’50 Cal’ Stapleton
After a stunning debut performance at BAMMA 25 and a brutal highlight reel KO of Graham ’Afterburner’ Turner, Ronnie ‘Iron’ Mann (25-8-1) laid claim for his shot at the now vacant BAMMA Featherweight Title. He will now face the BAMMA Lightweight World Champion Martin ’50 Cal’ Stapleton (18-4), after Stapleton decided to step down a weight class and answer the call to face Ronnie Mann for the title. In what will be an epic collision of two of the UK’s most durable and exciting MMA fighters, Stapleton says he is a man on a mission. “Nothing will stop me from claiming what is mine” as he vows that history will be made as he becomes the first ever British two weight division champion on December 16th at the 3Arena.

Featherweight Bout
Dylan ‘The Nuke’ Tuke Vs. Sean ‘The Machine’ Tobin
BAMMA 27 sees the return of the hugely popular Dylan ‘The Nuke’ Tuke (3-0), as the talented SBG fighter makes his way into the 3Arena once more to pursue his goal of a title shot in the near future. After battling back through adversity in his last fight against Adam Venture, Tuke is determined to put in the performance of the night at the 3Arena. “If i put in a performance like that on my worst day and still get the win, then on my best day whoever is in my way will certainly fall”. The Nuke certainly won’t have it easy as Trials Gym Cork head coach, Sean ‘The Machine’ Tobin (4-2) will be the man across the ring and he pose a number of questions. With a super strong ground game, the master of the North/South choke will look to end Tuke’s night on the floor. However, Tobin also boasts a high end set of striking skills, so expect fireworks wherever it goes and with two ultra competitive foes in Tuke and Tobin, BAMMA 27 promises to best Christmas party Dublin has seen.

Nathan ‘Mr. Bag & Tag’ Jones (9-5) took on Peter ‘The Showstopper’ Queally at BAMMA 24, he now makes his latest appearance for BAMMA in a match up that could prove his sternest test yet – against the undefeated Walter ‘The Sniper’ Gahadza!
Undefeated Walter ‘The Sniper’ Gahadza (16-0) will be out to impress again when he faces off against the tricky Nathan Jones at the 3Arena. The Sure Grip Vale Tudo fighter, will once again be looking to using his high pressure and solid striking attacks to continue his undefeated streak on his surge to the vacant BAMMA Welterweight Title.
