“May-a-veli The Don Skilluminati: The 7 Day Theory”

“Day One – Blasphemy”

Editorial By Zo Crooks, RCM Chicago Boxing Correspondent

Chicago, IL (April 29th, 2015)– Just a few days ago ESPN aired a full half hour of Outside The Lines dedicated to illustrating Floyd “Money” Mayweather as a habitual criminial that has yet to pay for his crime(s) nor admit/apologize for his past transgressions. ESPN OTL even went as far as to personally dig up court documents surrounding his past. ESPN’s John Barr and Bob Ley dived into Mayweather’s crimes, leaving the image of Mayweather being an unrepentant monster! OTL begs to question,“Was Mayweather punished enough?” Floyd Mayweather’s past has been well documented and he has paid his debt to society so why continuously bring it up? OTL has also suggested that people boycott this fight. There are a few celebrities that are celebrated in America with a history of violence. Sean Penn, Chrisitan Slater, Tommy Lee, and Sean Connery to name a few; however the difference is that their past is not brought up when it’s time to for them to perform. America will still watch their movies, buy their albums, and support their shows without judgement!

There seems to be a pattern going on here. Before each Mayweather fight the media has to find something negative to report about Floyd. I’m thoroughly convinced that this country is hoping that he will finally taste defeat. The hypocrisy is REAL!!!! Why do a show like OTL and an interview with Mayweather and Stephen A. Smith? If you are asking the public to boycott the fight and not support Mayweather then you are doing a horrible job at it because you are actually selling and supporting the fight with continuous coverage.

Your camera crews, reporters, and journalists will all be there for fight week jockeying for position to maintain your position as the number one sports network in the world.
It is really pathetic on how Americans pick and choose who they forgive. This country preaches forgiveness but very rarely exercise it. Minorities are hardly ever forgiven! Most if not all of us have a past in which we have done something that we regret and would love to forget. Nobody is perfect. Floyd’s opponent for Saturday night is none other than Manny Pacquiao. Pacquiao has documented history of things that I’m quite sure that he would like to forget. However he has been forgiven for his transgressions and his past is never mentioned. Manny gets a pass! So why is Mayweather not celebrated like Pacquiao and given a pass as well? Is it because he is flashy? It is the way that he flaunts his possessions? Is it that he is young, black and wealthy? Regardless of what he is we must recognize that we are looking as greatness. An undefeated champion that did it his way, the hard way, the AMERICAN WAY! #Hardworkdedication
