Bellator Fight Week Begins Thursday, May 15th from Memphis In Preparation For May 17th Pay-Per-View
Memphis, Tenn. (May 14, 2014) – As Bellator’s highly anticipated pay-per-view moves closer, the fight week schedule leading up to Saturday, May 17th has been finalized. Event week activities include, Bellator Open Workouts, Weigh-In’s, various community events, and of course Saturday night’s event on May 17th. The full schedule of events can be found below.
The Bellator Pay-Per-View will be held at the Landers Center on Saturday, May 17th, with tickets on sale now. Tickets can be purchased at Bellator.com, Ticketmaster.com and The Landers Center Box Office.
Bellator Open Workouts: In lieu of a press conference, Bellator is hosting open workouts on Thursday, May 15th from Memphis Judo & Jiu-Jitsu (7859 US Hwy 64 Memphis, TN 38133) and is free and open to the public. Open workouts will begin at 1pm CST on Thursday and will feature Michael Chandler, Will Brooks, Rampage Jackson, King Mo, Tito Ortiz and Alexander Shlemenko, along with Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney.
Bellator Weigh-In’s: Bellator will host its weigh-ins inside the Landers Center (4560 Venture Dr, Southaven, MS 38671) on Friday, May 16th at 5pm CST. As always, the event is free and open to the public, and will be streamed live on Bellator.com. The event will feature every fighter competing on the May 17th card, and will feature cage announcer Michael C. Williams, emcee Jimmy Smith, and Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney. In addition, ESPN FM/Radio and The Gary Parrish Show will be broadcasting live from the Landers Center on Friday from 4pm to 6pm CST.
Bellator Event Night: The Bellator MMA prelims will begin at 5pm CST live on Spike.com. The Spike TV portion of the night begins at 7:00 PM CST, transitioning to pay-per-view at 9:00 PM CST with five fights on pay-per-view, including a Bellator Light Heavyweight Tournament Final fight between Rampage Jackson and King Mo, Michael Chandler vs. Will Brooks for the Lightweight Interim Title, and Alexander Shlemenko vs. Tito Ortiz.
Bellator Featured at Memphis BBQ Festival: Bellator will be represented at the Memphis World Championship Barbecue Festival and Cooking Contest on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Fans will have the opportunity to meet and interact with the Bellator girls, Jade Bryce and Mercedes Terrell on Friday from 3pm to 5pm. Additionally, fans can win prizes at the Bellator booth with the Bellator Wheel of Prizes and experience what it is like to look like a fighter with the Bellator Fighter Stand-Ups.
