UFC on FUEL TV: Gustaffson vs. Silva Recap

Dana is slowly but surely proving that MMA will be a world sport. The Swedish crowd proved to be on of the best crowds to date, with Dana White considering a possible match-up between Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson in Sweden. Regardless, the card in Sweden was a rousing success that saw many exciting matches.
In the main event, Alexander Gustafsson put on a striking clinic against the Brazilian, Thiago Silva. Silva never seemed to find his range in this fight, setting up Gustaffson to pick Silva apart at a distance. Expect Gustaffson to fight a top-5 guy in the future, maybe against Lyoto Machida. As for Silva, it’s back to the drawing board. In the past three years, he has gone 1-3 (1NC) so he is in desperate need of a win. He’s a young guy though, so he should be able to rebound.
Also on this card, Brian Stann KO’d Alessio Sakara with three brutal elbows. Plus, Siyar Bahadurzada absolutely floored Paulo Thiago with a devastating one punch KO. Dennis Siver transitioned nicely to the Featherweight division by putting on a great show with Diego Nunes. Overall, this was a great card that went by relatively unnoticed, due to a 3pm start time.
