Buatsi vs. Hutchinson 2 Results and Video Highlights: Willy Hutchinson Defeats Joshua Buatsi to Win WBC Light Heavyweight Title, Full Card Results

By Real Combat Media Boxing Editorial Staff

Manchester, England, (November 7th, 2026)–Willy Hutchinson avenged his 2024 loss to Joshua Buatsi, taking a unanimous decision (115-113, 117-112, 115-113) at AO Arena to win the vacant WBC light heavyweight title and become a world champion for the first time. The rematch, streamed live on DAZN, was upgraded to a full world title fight after David Benavidez vacated the belt to move up to cruiserweight. Hutchinson built his lead early with speed, movement and counters, then held on as Buatsi rallied late.

Main Event Breakdown: Willy Hutchinson vs. Joshua Buatsi

The first fight was Buatsi’s night. In 2024 at Wembley he dropped Hutchinson twice on the way to a split decision and the interim WBO title. Hutchinson, now 28, called for the rematch ever since and arrived in Manchester on a two-fight win streak, having stopped Mark Jeffers in October 2025 and beaten Ezra Taylor by decision in March.

This time Hutchinson was the sharper fighter from the opening bell. He slipped punches, tied Buatsi up when he needed to and picked off the advancing Buatsi with quick counters, taking the early rounds. Buatsi spent much of that stretch chasing, and he struggled to close the distance or trap Hutchinson against the ropes.

The fight turned in the middle rounds. Buatsi began cutting off the ring, backing Hutchinson up and working the body at close range, and Hutchinson’s early sharpness started to fade. Over the closing rounds Buatsi’s body punching and higher output forced Hutchinson onto the defensive, and Hutchinson threw less while avoiding as much contact as he could. Buatsi finished as the stronger man, but the lead Hutchinson built early was enough. Neither fighter went down.

Hutchinson improved to 21-2 with 14 knockouts and claimed the first world title of his career. Buatsi fell to 20-2 with 13 knockouts, the second defeat of his career.

Gully Powar def. Zak Miller: Powar won the vacant British featherweight title by technical unanimous decision (96-95, 97-95, 96-94).
