Former World Middleweight Champion Felix Sturm Wins Comeback Fight

Neu-Ulm, Germany (February 19th, 2024)– At Ratiopharm Arena in Neu-Ulm, Germany, on Saturday night, February 15, 2025, former World Middleweight champion Felix Sturm, age 46, won a comeback after 14 months of inactivity at light heavyweight by knocking out Benjamin Blindert in three rounds at Ratiopharm Arena in Neu-Ulm, Germany, on Saturday evening.

Sturm won the vacant World Boxing Association Gold Light Heavyweight title in the process and ranked 39th in the world in the BoxRec Middleweight rankings.

Sturm, 45-6-3 with twenty knockouts, Leverkusen, Germany, dispatched the limited Blindert, 14-2-2 with ten knockouts, Euskirchen, Germany, who was ten counted out in the third round of the main event of a seven-bout Agon Sports and Sturm Box card. The undercard featured four undefeated area prospects and one pro debut.

In the preliminary bout to the main event, Vincenzo ‘Il Capo’ Gualtieri, age 32, 24-1-1 with eight knockouts, Wuppertal, Germany, the former IBF and WBO World Middleweight champion, won the vacant World Boxing Organization European Middleweight championship with a hard-fought 12 round unanimous decision over Alexander Pavlov, age 36, 22-5 with sixteen knockouts, Hamburg, Germany.
