UAE Warriors 44 Results

UAE Warriors 44 took place Saturday night, August 26, live from the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi and we witnessed another global MMA event featuring fighters representing over twenty nations from all over the globe.

In the main event, UFC veteran Alex da Silva (23-5) made quick work of opponent Bagysh Zharmamatov (8-3) thanks to a highly impression guillotine choke in the first minute. The Brazilian is now on a two-fight win streak in UAE Warriors and will have his sights set on the vacant welterweight title.

China’s Baergeng Jieleyisi (15-5) won a close split decision win over Canada’s Xavier Alaoui (14-5) in the co-main event. Both fighters went toe to toe for fifteen minutes and at the end each put their hands up in victory. But it was Jieleyisi who walks away with the victory.

Elsewhere on the card, Russia’s Rashid Vagabov (10-2) submitted DWCS & Road to UFC competitor Qui Lun (19-10), Japan’s Yamato Fujita (10-4) submitted Furkatbek Yokubov (8-4), UAE Warriors Arabia champ Eslam Syaha (15-2) scored a hard fought decision win over Sweden’s Robin Roos (6-4), popular Welshman Aaron Aby (15-7) beat the Philippines’ Joevincent So (10-5), and South Africa’s Mark Hulme (10-3) won his UAE Warriors debut thanks to a decision win over Kazakhstan’s Erkin Darmenov (13-6).

UAE Warriors 43: Arabia took place the night prior on Friday, August 25, from the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi and it was an action-packed night to remember with finish after finish and career defining main event.

Wisem Hammami (8-1) made history by becoming the first ever UAE Warriors Africa & Arabia champion with an incredible first round TKO finish over Badreddine Diani (6-3) in the main event. For the first time ever in UAE Warriors history, two titles were put on the line in a champion vs. champion winner takes all bout.

It had been over a year since Hammami was in action last and ring rust did not show for the rising star. The 26-year-old, who was coming in as the UAE Warriors Africa champ, did not waste any time and blitzed his opponent with a flurry of punches early in the first round to walk away as double champion.
