CONOR MCGREGOR VS. MICHAEL CHANDLER IS OFFICIAL & SET TO COACH THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER

Las Vegas, Nevada (February 4th, 2023)–UFC President Dana White has gone public and confirmed Conor ‘Notorious’ McGregor will make his UFC comeback return in 2023 at 170 pounds, competing in the Octagon against veteran Michael Chandler.

 McGregor, 22-6 with 19 knockouts, Team SBG Ireland, Dublin, Ireland, has lost three of his last four UFC MMA bouts. McGregor has been inactive since July 10, 2021, when he lost his to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 Poirier versus McGregor III, T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada, which ended after one round when McGregor sustained a broken leg.

 ‘Iron’ Michael Chandler, 23-8 with 11 knockouts, Team Sanford MMA, High Ridge, Missouri, is coming off a loss to McGregor’s nemesis Dustin Poirier, on November 12, 2022, at UFC 281 Adesanya versus Pereira, at two minutes of round three by rear-naked choke submission at Madison Square Garden.

 White announced McGregor and Chandler will first serve as coaches in the next season of The Ultimate Fighter. Afterwards, the two lightweight combatants will fight in the UFC, after Ultimate Fighter 2023 filming is completed. White stated Season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter ends August 15, 2023. The date and location for the McGregor-Chandler fight have not yet been determined. The coaches last season on the show were Amanda Nunes and Julianna Peña. The previous season of The Ultimate Fighter concluded July 19, 2022.
