
TUF Nations Winner, UFC Canadian Middleweight Elias “The Spartan” ‘Theodorou, Dies at Age 34

Toronto, CA (September 12th, 2022)– Elias “The Spartan” Theodorou, a Canadian middleweight who competed in MMA in UFC and was the TUF Nations winner, passed away from liver cancer in his native Mississauga, Ontario, Canada at age 34, as originally confirmed by MMA Junkie.
On February 19, 2020, Theodorou was the first MMA fighter and professional athlete in history to receive a sanctioned exemption for medical cannabis (TUE) in sport by a governing body via the British Columbia Athletic Commission.
Weighing 185 pounds, Theodorou posted a record of 19-3 with eight knockouts, losing only three decisions, competing at middleweight MMA between 2011 and 2021. Theodorou was 8-3 in the UFC, with his other eleven bouts all wins outside the UFC fight circuit.
The last of his 22 three-rounders was on December 18, 2021, when Theodorou won a three-round unanimous decision over California’s Bryan ‘The Beast’ Baker at Colorado Combat Club 10, the main event of a 13-bout CCC card.
