Scoring went 96-94, 97-93 and 97-93 for Plata, who emerged from the bout ranked number one in the world in the female light flyweight division on BoxRec, an extraordinary rank.
18-1-1 Marc “Livewire” Leach of Salford, United Kingdom, upset previously undefeated 10-0 Chris Leach of Stratham, London, United Kingdom, by 12 round decision, to win the vacant BBBofC British Super Bantamweight title at York Hall, Bethnal Green. The career of ex-champ Perez, loser of five of his last eight bouts since 2019, loser of three of his last four bouts as well, who once beat 48-0-1 world champion Paul Spadafora, may have hit the end of the road in his 39 bout career.
