Female Heavyweight Boxing Champion Olga Domuladzhanova Dies of Coronavirus at 52

Moscow, Russia (May 15th, 2021)– Female heavyweight amateur Russian and World Boxing champion Olga Domuladzhanova, who won the female amateur heavyweight gold medal world boxing championship at Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, France, in April 2001, died on May 14, 2021, in Tashkent, Russian Federation, of Covid-19 Novel Coronavirus at age 52, the latest casualty in a long line of losses to the boxing establishment of noted individuals during the ongoing pandemic.

Domuladzhanova, who went on to become national director of the training center of the Russian amateur national teams, was a three-time Russian amateur female heavyweight champion, and two-time winner at amateur heavyweight of the European cup.

Domuladzhanova, who did not go professional, was best known internationally as a female trainer, coach, and as an official of the European EUBC Women’s Boxing Commission.
