
Filipino Fighter of Month Vic Saludar Wins Upset in Japan Again, Retains WBO Title

Filipino WBO World Minimumweight champion ‘Vicious’ Vic Saludar has done the seemingly impossible yet again. For the second time in seven months, Saludar has beaten the odds and won a 12 round World Boxing Organization World championship decision inside Japan, at KoraKoen Hall in Tokyo, Japan, on February 27, 2019, this time over 11-2 Japanese Minimumweight contender Masataka Taniguchi. For this reason, Saludar, 19-3 with 10 knockouts, Cagayan de Oro, Philippines, is the Real Combat Media Filipino ‘Fighter of the Month’ for February 2019.
