Fox Card

Prospects Mykal Fox and Mattice Featured on Nine Bout King’s Promotions SugarHouse Card

By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent

Philadelphia, PA (May 10th, 2018)–    Marshall Kauffman’s King’s Promotions will present a nine-bout card of exciting boxing at SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Friday evening, May 11, 2018, featuring top super lightweight prospect Mykal ‘The Professor’ Fox, 16-0, four knockouts, Forestville, Maryland, in a highly competitive eight rounder against Anthony Mercado, 11-3 with 10 knockouts, Arecibo, Puerto Rico. Mercado upset 7-0 Tyrone Crawley by third-round stoppage at Sugar House this past March, and with 10 knockouts in his 11 wins, a knockout is his only prayer against Fox. However, Fox is a superior technical boxer, and is favored by eight round decision. Fox has won at eight and 10 rounds by decision already at age 22, and Mercado is unlikely to win more than a round or two on the scorecards.

Thomas ‘Gunna Man’ Mattice, 11-0 Cleveland, Ohio lightweight prospect, will also be featured in a six rounder on the card. Featherweight prospects Deo Kuzito of Uganda, 3-1, and 1-0 Anvar Yunusov will face each other in a six rounder which could be very close. 2-0 heavyweight prospect Michael Polite Coffie will face 0-1 Lamar Lewis of Arkansas in a four rounder. 5-3-1 super bantamweight Alex Barboza, also a boxing announcer, will fight a four-rounder against 2-7 Mexican American Sergio Aguilar of Homestead, Florida, age 41, whose last outing over four rounds at Sands Bethlehem showed him to be a much tougher customer than his record would indicate.

Philadelphia bantamweight Romuel Cruz, 1-0, will face 2-9-1 Bryan Perez Nevarez of Carolina, Puerto Rico, in a four rounder. Nevarez is tough, and went the distance at 2300 Arena and at Sugar House in his most recent appearances in the ring. 1-1-1 Philadelphia bantamweight prospect Jarrod Miner will face 1-0 Desmond Moore in a four round bout. Reading Pennsylvania super featherweight Joshafat Ortiz, 3-0, will face 2-1-1 Jordan Peters of Washington, D.C., in a four rounder. 0-2 Philadelphia super featherweight Christopher Burgos will face 0-0-1 Joel Flores of Passaic, New Jersey, in a four rounder.

Tickets are $100, $75, and $50, can be purchased online at www.sugarhousecasino.com or at the door on Friday, May 11, 2018. Enter at SugarHouse, 1001 North Delaware Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Riverwalk entrance. Doors open at 6 P.M., first bout at 7 P.M. The nine-bout fight card will also be telecast on Eleven Sports in the United States, Belgium, Italy, Luxembourg, Singapore, Poland and Taiwan.
