BELLATOR STAR, MICHAEL ‘VENOM’ PAGE LEAVES MMA FOR NOW TO BOX FOR HAYEMAKER PROMOTIONS

London, UK (July 13th, 2017)– Earlier this month, Bellator welterweight star Paul Daley began angling for a fight with former UFC contender and recent Bellator welterweight title challenger Lorenz Larkin. Shortly thereafter, Larkin replied to Daley’s callout, accepting the fight for later this year. This of course, raised immediate questions about the status of a long-discussed scrap between Daley and another British MMA star, Michael Page.
As it turns out, the reason Page isn’t signing on the dotted line for a battle with Daley is that he’s got his hands full with a foray into the boxing arena. And he won’t be boxing in some community center basement, either.
On Wednesday morning, heavyweight boxing star David Haye – who is currently in discussion for a boxing match with UFC light heavyweight Jimi Manuwa – shared a picture of himself and Page, stating that page had signed with his promotion Hayemaker Boxing.
Apparently, Page will be making his debut in the ring before the end of 2017.
When we last saw Page compete in mixed martial arts, he scored a split decision win over Fernando Gonzalez.
Prior to that forgettable win, Page picked up an unforgettable victory, scoring 2016 knockout of the year contender by breaking the skull of Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos with a rocket-fuelled flying knee to the forehead. Page, who also has experience in the kickboxing ring, is undefeated as a mixed martial artist at 12-0.
