TERENCE CRAWFORD VS. VIKTOR POSTOL

Las Vegas, Nevada (July 22, 2016)— In recent years, the boxing world has had its shares of mismatch fights, meaningless fights, and duds. It seems getting the top guys of any division, is really difficult to put together. Not this upcoming Saturday night. The Light Welterweight Division has a special treat for us all. The top two fighters at 140 lbs will exchange punches at the historic MGM Grand Garden Arena, in Las Vegas. Real Combat Media’s number 1 ranked WBC Light Welterweight champion Viktor Postol (28-0, 12 KOs) will defend his title against Real Combat Media’s number 2 ranked and WBO Light Welterweight champion Terance Crawford (28-0, 20 KOs) in a highly anticipated unification bout, which will be televised live on HBO PPV.
Back in April 2015, Terance Crawford got his first light welterweight title shot when he faced top contender Thomas Dulorme. Crawford defeated Dulorme with great fashion, knocking him out in the sixth round. He then became the WBO Light Welterweight champion. Crawford went on to defend his title successfully against Diery Jean and Hank Lundy. Before moving up to light welterweight, Crawford dominated the lightweight division, where he was also a champion. Crawford is also a top 10 pound-for-pound fighter and with a win over Viktor Postol, he can easily be placed in the top three pound-for-pound fighters.
Terance Crawford is a young champion that can become one of the greats. His skills are very good and can adjust to any style fighting a guy like Postol will be a big challenge. Postol is a guy that can definitely push Crawford to the limit. He is an undefeated champion and can definitely box. If Crawford comes out with the victory, a jump to welterweight would be huge for the fans and for him, but until then, he will have to defeat the bigger world champion, Viktor Postol.
The Ukrainian champion Viktor Postol, holds the WBC Light Welterweight title. He “surprisingly” destroyed Lucas Matthysse back in October of 2015. Postol wasn’t a well known fighter before his fight against Matthysse. Lucas Matthysse’s nickname is “The Machine”. 34 of Lucas’ 37 victories came by way of knockout. He was the favorite over Viktor Postol, but Postol’s will and determination to become champion along with his good boxing skills, were in full affect. Postol beat Matthysse into a pulp. The victory over Matthysse stunned the boxing world and everyone knew that Postol was officially a big threat to everyone in 140lbs.
Postol has the height and reach advantage over Crawford and will definitely need to use it to try and defeat the more powerful highly skilled Crawford. This fight is definitely a huge event. To see two of the top fighters of a division to go head-to-head in boxing now-a-days is rare. The fans will definitely be in for a spectacular show.
Oscar Valdez vs Matias Ruedas
For the co-main event, two-time Mexican Olympian and top featherweight contender Oscar Valdez 19-0, 17 KOs) will fight for the vacant WBO World Featherweight Title, against undefeated contender Matias Rueda (26-0, 23 KOs), after Vasyl Lomachenko vacated the title. Valdez recently defeated former IBF World Featherweight champion Evgeny Gradovich, via TKO in the fourth round.
Matias Rueda is an Argentinian top contender, who has won 10 of his last fights by knockout. This fight can definitely heat things up for the main event, with good toe-to-toe action.
Jose Benavidez Jr vs Francisco Santana
Also on the undercard in the Crawford-Postol event, undefeated top-10 light welterweight contender, Jose Benavidez Jr (24-0, 16 KOs) will take on contender Francisco Santana (24-4-1, 12 KOs) in a ten-round bout.
Jose Benavidez Jr is a top contender in the light welterweight division. He recently defeated Jorge Paez Jr and also defeated Mauricio Herrera back in December 2014. Francisco Santana is known for his come-forward action and can definitely give Benavidez problems. This bout will bring in a lot of action and give the fans a great show
