BEN ROTHWELL VS. JUNIOR DOS SANTOS IS SET FOR CROATIA
Las Vegas, NV ( February 8th, 2016)– Heavyweights Ben Rothwell (36-9) and Junior dos Santos will meet April 10 at UFC Fight Night 86 in Zagreb, Croatia.
The UFC’s official Twitter account announced the news on Monday morning.
Rothwell comes into his matchup with the former heavyweight champion dos Santos riding a four-fight winning streak.
During this stretch, Rothwell defeated Brandon Vera, Alistair Overeem, Matt Mitrione and Josh Barnett – all via finish (two knockouts, two submissions). Most recently, Rothwell gave Barnett the first submission defeat of his career, forcing the former UFC champ to tap out due to a second-round gogo choke.
Dos Santos is 2-2 in his last four. He lost via TKO to Overeem in his most recent fight at UFC on FOX 17, and he had a close decision victory over Stipe Miocic at UFC on Fox 13 . The former UFC champ has never lost back-to-back fights in his career.
