Boxer and Actor Mickey Rourke, Age 62, To Make Comeback on Moscow Provodnikov vs. Castillo Undercard

Moscow, Russia (November 20, 2014)– Boxer and actor Mickey Rourke, age 62, who had a professional boxing record of six wins and two draws as a light heavyweight under trainer Freddie Roach between 1991 and 1994, when injuries ended his career, is making a comeback. According to Sovietsky Sport, Rourke will fight 29 year old Elliot Seymour on November 28 in Moscow, Russia, on the undercard to the Ruslan Provodnikov versus Jose Luis Castillo 12 round welterweight main event Russian businessman Andrei Rybansky, who runs the World of Boxing Russian Promotional Company, made the announcement earlier this week. The ten bout card will be held next week at Luzhniki in Moscow.
Saoul Mamby, a former WBC World Junior Welterweight champion from Brooklyn, New York, was 60 years old when he lost a 10 round decision to Anthony Osborne in Georgetown, Cayman Islands in March 2008. The oldest active American boxer is Iranian American southpaw heavyweight Hassan Chitsaz of Los Angeles, age 57, who has a professional record of 26-1 with 26 knockouts.
