Long time UFC Lightweight Melvin Guillard Has Been Released
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has released former lightweight contender Melvin Guillard, after The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 2 standout after losing to Michael Johnson in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 37, which took place earlier this month in London, England. Guillard has been with the UFC close to 9 years. The 30 year old has fought 22 fights(12-9)in the UFC, however he has only 1 win in his last 5 fights and one no contest. Overall he is (31-13,2,2NC).

[Manager Malki] Kawa said Guillard, who wasn’t available for comment, is handling the news well and eager to move forward.
“We’re working to get him signed somewhere else,” he said. “I’m going to do what’s best for Melvin.”
Kawa wouldn’t disclose any potential landing spots for Guillard at this time.
