SUPERKOMBAT® VIP Edition with Zambidis
and world title on the line
SUPERKOMBAT® is proud to announce that on August 31 in Bucharest, Romania, SUPERKOMBAT® VIP Edition is set to take place with the Superkombat middleweight world title on the line contested by Greek legend Iron Mike Zambidis in the main event.
The event will take place exactly one day after SUPERKOMBAT® New Heroes in Dracula’s home town, Targoviste. “We will be very active at the end of this month, with two big events, two days in a row. This combo event will open the fall season with 4 World Grand Prix events from September 28 to December 21, all live in 75 countries via Eurosport”, said Eduard Irimia, the president of SUPERKOMBAT®.
SUPERKOMBAT® VIP Edition will be held at Grand Cinema Digiplex – “Epika” Hall at Baneasa Shopping City, a very popular top tier commercial center in Bucharest. On the main card were added also fighters as Cedric Manhoef, Alexandros Chatzichronoglou and Miodrag Olar.
In the main-event, for the SUPERKOMBAT® Middleweight World Title, Iron Mike Zambidis will face Dutch-Turkish MMA and kickboxing specialist Harun Kina in a 3 rounds by 3 minutes fight. This title was won by Albert Krauss in 2011, in Frankfurt, and became vacant for contractual reason. Mainly because the champion is under exclusive contract with another promotion this makes him unable to defend the title in future events.
“For us, it is a honour, after Krauss was champion, to have a legend like Zambidis in the SUPERKOMBAT® ring. His opponent for August 31 will be Dutch-Turkish fighter Harun Kina, an MMA specialist. For the fans it will be a good chance to see two warriors from different disciplines fighting in SUPERKOMBAT®”, added Mr Irimia.
Mike Zambidis is one of the top rated stand-up martial arts champions world wide, having an impressive track record of 173 fights with 152 wins and 86 KO’s. He is fighting in the most important events worldwide and he has won a series of world titles and awards. Zambidis opponent, Harun Kina, is a very strong fighter with special personal technique and fighting style, as he has been fighting in many different martial arts like karate (shotokan), Thai Boxing and MMA while having in his portfolio many important wins, always fighting for a knock out.
