Atlantic City is coming back with a vengeance on Saturday, November 17th and can you believe this? Two, not one, but two sensational bouts on the same card.

The Co – Main Event Broner vs. DeMarco for the WBC Lightweight World Championship

Undefeated Adrien (The Problem) Broner (24-0-0 with 20 KO’s) is moving up in weight to fight in this new weight class. In his last fight he failed to make his weight and was stripped of his Super Feather Weight Title for failing to make weight against Vicente Escobedo. It will be interesting to see if he is still growing and what he will weigh on Friday. Broner says, “I’m not coming just to win this fight; I’m coming to knock DeMarco out.”

Current WBC title holder,  Antonio “Tony” DeMarco (28-2-1 with 21 KO’s) fresh from his exciting win against John Molina in September by TKO in 44 seconds in the 1st round. DeMarco, a southpaw,  has a three inch height advantage although he and his opponent have the same reach of 71 inches. DeMarco says, “Broner talks a big game but he’s never been in the ring with a hungry Mexican fighter like me.” True or false? We will see! DeMarco’s past is strife with hunger and homelessness and Broner is a flashy, showboat type and has been likened to Floyd Mayweather because of his outfits, videos and outlandish internet posts and commentary.

The Co- Main Event Two for the NABO Heavyweight Championship

Undefeated Seth “Mayhem” Mitchell (25-0-1, 19 KO’s) and Team Mitchell are confident Mitchell’s hand is healed and there will be no repercussion from the injury that he suffered which forced him to cancel the July match against Banks. Mitchell is fresh off his Media Day workout where he exhibited outstanding stamina and his camp re-iterated that the former Michigan State Linebacker is ready to go in the ring with anyone. Armed with a variety of strategies, they are not taking Banks lightly however.

Johnathon “Mr. Banks” Banks (28-1-1, 18 KO’s)

Banks says of Mitchell, “I’ll prove what a true boxer at the highest level can do against a football player. The winner should be next in line for a title shot.”  I will be curious to see how Banks will persevere in his role for heavy weight contender if he should win against Mitchell. Banks currently trains Wladimir Klitschko since the sad, untimely passing of Emanuel Steward, Wlad’s trainer and dear friend.

This match is scheduled for 12 rounds for the NABO Heavyweight Championship. Both men are matched equally in height and reach. Mitchell retaining his title should not be a problem and he says, “It’s taken a while, but I’m happy to finally be back in action and fighting a great opponent like Johnathon Banks. I love fighting in Atlantic City because I know my fans from Maryland and the D.C. area will be out in force cheering me on”.

All four fighters say they are in their top condition and practically guarantee that they will be the undisputed champion in their weight class. There certainly can’t be 4 winners. This will be an exciting card to say the least.

The event is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions in association with Gary Shaw Productions, sponsored by Caesars Atlantic City. The action will be featured on HBO World Championship Boxing and takes place at Boardwalk Hall on Saturday, November 17 promptly at 6pm.

Tickets range from $200, $100, $50, and $25, not including fees and taxes and can be ordered from

Ticketmaster at (800) 736-1420 or online at ticketmaster.com.
