BILOXI, Miss. – It almost looked and felt like deja vu all over again for Jermain Taylor(30-4-1, 18KOs) last night. Taylor was dropped in the ninth round by a right hand from Caleb Truax(18-0-1,10 KOs). This time however, he got up from the knockdown to finish the fight on his feet. Taylor established his jab early in the fight to stack up the scorecards. “Bad Intentions” was in charge thru out the fight up until round number nine when he was floored by Truax. At the end Taylor won a unanimous decision with scores of  98-91, 97-92 and 97-94.

Erislandy Lara(16-1-1,11 KOs) knocked out Ronald Hearns(26-3, 23 KOs) in the very first round of the Jr. middleweight contest. Lara came out and wasted no time in disposing Hearns. The bout was stopped after Lara registered three knockdowns against the son of the legend Tommy “Hit Man” Hearns. The time was 1:34.
