WBA Calls For A Purse Bid For Gennady Golovkin vs Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam
The WBA has called for a purse bid to match up two of it’s title holders in Gennady Golovkin (World Champion) v. Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam (Interim Champion). This bid will be taken place on Thursday, February 2, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at WORLD BOXING ASSOCIATION OFFICE in Marbella, Panama. The WBA World Champion Gennady Golovkin from Kazakhstan (22-0, 19 KO’s) is one of the many young talents in the middleweight division. HE first won his title back in August of 2010 and has held it ever since. Golovkin is slowly gaining popularity among the boxing enthusiasts but is still fairly unknown to the world. Golovkin is currently ranked #10 in The Ring Magazine Middleweight rankings. Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam (26-0, 17 KO”s) is currently the WBA’s Interim Champion who fights out of France but is originally from Cameroon, Africa. Hassan won his title back in October of 2010 and since then, he has had only one title defense which happened in April of 2011. N’Jikam is currently ranked #8 in The Ring Magazine Middleweight rankings.
The middleweight division has many young talented fighters that cab give the boxing world plenty of exciting fights. This is a good start and hopefully it can happen, boxing needs to start pinning champions vs champion, the best vs the best, so the fans can finally start seeing the fights that should be happening. Now, if the other governing bodies can also do the same with ALL of their fighters….how great would the next few years in boxing be?
