By Real Combat Media MMA Editorial Staff

Las Vegas, Nevada, (October 10th, 2026)–Brendan Allen choked out Christian Leroy Duncan with a rear-naked choke at 2:46 of the fifth round in the main event of UFC Vegas 122 at the Meta Apex, extending his UFC win streak to four and calling for a title shot. The card delivered nine finishes in 12 bouts, including head-kick knockouts from Andre Fili and Otari Tanzilovi, a doctor stoppage for Alice Pereira and a retirement from Niko Price, while Jai Herbert took a decision over Matheus Camilo in the co-main event.

Main Event Breakdown: Brendan Allen vs. Christian Leroy Duncan

Allen (28-7) tried to drag Duncan (15-3) to the mat from the opening bell, but the Englishman defended well early and answered with heavy strikes. Duncan lost a point in the second round for an eye poke, and Allen spent long stretches of the second and third rounds working from top position. The momentum shift left Allen complaining of rib pain between rounds, and Duncan found a second wind in the fourth, when Allen stopped shooting and Duncan went to work on the body. In the fifth, Allen returned to his wrestling, scrambled his way into a wild sequence and locked up the choke for the finish.

Allen said afterward that he is defending his spot and wants to be rewarded with a fight against the champion, or failing that, Dricus du Plessis, who he said has been dodging him. The performance earned him a $100,000 bonus. Duncan’s five-fight win streak ends.

Co-Main Event Breakdown: Jai Herbert vs. Matheus Camilo

Herbert (15-6-1) won a unanimous decision by scores of 29-28, 29-28 and 29-28. Camilo (11-4) entered as the betting favorite and took the first round, but Herbert took over in the second and third with pressure, the better cardio and a stronger finish. He stopped Camilo’s takedown attempts in the third and landed ground and pound from top position. At 38, Herbert has won two straight in the UFC for the first time in his career, and he said he wants to stay active and fight again early in 2027.
