Las Vegas, NV (February 22nd, 2026)– Ryan Garcia, 27, (25-2, 20 Kos) defeated Mario Barrios, 30, (29-3-2, 18 Kos) by unanimous decision on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas to capture the WBC welterweight championship.
Garcia dominated the bout from the opening bell, scoring a knockdown in the first 30 seconds of Round 1 with an overhand right. The final judges’ scorecards were 119-108, 120-107, and 118-109 in favor of Garcia.
After the bout, Ryan Garcia called out Shakur Stevenson, who was in attendance.
Gary Antuanne Russell, 29, (19-1, 17 Kos) successfully defended his WBA super lightweight title, while Andy Hiraoka, 29, ( 24-1, 19 Kos) suffered his first professional defeat.
Canceled Bout: The scheduled co-main event between Richardson Hitchins and Oscar Duarte for the IBF junior welterweight title was canceled due to Hitchins’ illness.
