Netflix Joker’s Wild Exhibition Bout November 14! Tank Davis To Fight Jake Paul at State Farm Arena
By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent
Atlanta, Georgia (August 21st, 2025)– Recently, my Real Combat Media editor turned down my story about a possible bout between Adrien Broner and Jake Paul. The size disparity and trash talk made my submitted story appear ridiculous. Social media chatter quickly shifted to a possible bout between either Canelo Alvarez or Anthony Joshua versus Jake Paul.
Size be damned. The concept of Jake Paul versus a lower weight fighter is no longer a joke. Jake Paul versus Tank Davis is the pay-per-view joker’s wild exhibition bout of the century.
World Boxing Association World Lightweight champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, who weighs in at around 135 pounds, will fight cruiserweight heavyweight boxer and YouTube social media icon sensation Jake Paul at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 14, 2025. Paul weighed 227 pounds for his eight-round decision win (two-minute rounds) with former world heavyweight champion Iron Mike Tyson last year. Paul weighed 199.4 pounds for his decision win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in June 2025. Chavez Jr., alleged to have ties to Mexican cartels, which he denies, was deported by ICE (after being held by immigration since July 2025) to a Mexican prison in Sonora, Mexico, on August 19, 2025, for overstaying his visa and lying on his green card application. After fighting Mike Tyson and Chavez Jr., Jake Paul has continued his media circus with pay-per-view charm and allure.
To put a spin on this streaming bout of senselessness, Jake Paul versus Tank Davis is like asking Muhammad Ali to fight the 135-pound lightweight version of the late Alexis Arguello. The bottom line is Jake Paul brings the boxing freak show and sells the streaming tickets. It may not be beautiful boxing, Ripley’s Believe It or Not. If Jake Paul versus Gervonta Davis is sanctioned by the Georgia and Athletic Entertainment Commission, my only suggestion is Tank Davis better train for the fight of his life and eat his Wheaties. The late Bruce Lee once said “Muhammad Ali would kill me if we ever fought.” Jake versus Tank is an insane bout to say the least. The theatre of the unexpected in boxing brings many surprises. How many rounds will Jake versus Paul be? What size gloves will they use? What special rules will govern the exhibition? The only certainty is big money will be on the table. Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Bailey Circus comes to Atlanta.
According to sportsbettingdime.com, early odds currently point to Tank Davis opening around -180, giving him roughly about a 64% chance of winning. Jake Paul comes in now at +140, putting his odds of winning at about 42%. Odds numbers will shift once the actual agreed weights and rules for the exhibition are set.
