

Ike Ibeabuchi Returns vs. Danny Williams August 23 in Nigeria

Lagos, Nigeria (August 3rd, 2025)– Ripley’s Believe it or Not! Ring in the insane. Boxing from the 1990s returns in 2025 fashion! Now 20-0 Ike ‘The President’ Ibeabuchi, a forgotten undefeated heavyweight contender inactive since defeated future world heavyweight champion Chris Byrd in a lopsided televised contest, then imprisonment in 1999 and subsequent release into immigration status confusion, will now return to the ring and attempt to regain the world heavyweight title.
Ibeabuchi, age 52, 20-0, 15 knockouts, Lagos, Nigeria, will return to action in Lagos on August 23, 2025, against an opponent whose includes a knockout win over former world heavyweight champion Iron Mike Tyson. The Brixton Bomber, former WBC world heavyweight championship title challenger Danny Williams, age 52, 55-33 with 42 knockouts, Brixton, London, United Kingdom.
Besides Mike Tyson, Williams has faced a who’s who of heavyweights during his 30-year career, which began with a second-round knockout of Vance Idiens at York Hall, Bethnal Green in October 1995. His opponents have included: Julius Francis, Michael Sprott, Kali Meehan, Sinan Samil Sam, Bob Mirovic, Audley Harrison, Dr. Vitali Klitschko (whom Williams fought for the WBC title after Williams knocked out Mike Tyson), Audley Harrison, Matt Skelton, Oleg Platov, Konstantin Airsch, John McDermott, Albert Sosnoski, Dereck Chisora, Mahmoud Charr, Al ‘Ice’ Cole (who Williams beat), Christian Hammer, Mairis Breidis, Oleg Maskaev, Andrzej Wawrzyk, Andreas Sidon and many more.
Williams scored his last win by knocking out 2-16-1 Vadim Thomirovs of Riga Latvia in Tallinn, Latvia in April 2023. Williams last bout was a four-round decision loss to 8-0 Louison Louizou in Tallinn in August 2023.
