CANELO VS. CRAWFORD PRESS CONFERENCE & INTERVIEWS

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (June 22, 2025)– In Las Vegas on September 13, there will be a super fight between Terence Crawford and Canelo Alvarez for The Ring and the undisputed super middleweight title, which will be broadcast live on Netflix around the world at no extra charge to its more than 300 million users, His Excellency Turki Alalshikh has announced.

Crawford, a potential future Hall of Famer who will advance two weight classes for the greatest test of his career, will face Alvarez, the best boxer in the world, in a defense of his 168-pound championship.

“On Sept. 13, Canelo and Crawford, two legends of boxing, will finally compete against each other in the fight of the century,” Alalshikh said. “Alongside Dana White and Sela, we will deliver something truly incredible in Las Vegas for fans around the world to enjoy through Netflix.”

The three-city press tour for the Riyadh Season event will kick off Friday, June 20 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at Blvd City. That’s the site where Canelo and Crawford first faced off last month following Alvarez’s decision win over William Scull as Crawford watched from ringside.

The press tour will continue two days later on June 22 in New York at Fanatics Fest, where throngs of fans will join some of the biggest stars in sports.

The press tour will wrap up on Friday, June 27 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The Riyadh Season event will be promoted by Alalshikh and Sela alongside UFC president Dana White.

“Turki wants to make the biggest fights that the fans want to see in boxing and this is right up my alley,” said White. “Are you kidding me that the first boxing fight I’m going to get to promote is Canelo vs. Crawford? It’s literally a once in a lifetime fight. Live on Saturday, Sept. 13, streaming globally on Netflix, two of the greatest boxers in the sport will meet in a historic fight from Las Vegas.”

Alvarez (62-2-2, 39 KOs) is The Ring’s No. 8 pound-for-pound boxer and owns the Ring Magazine championship at 168 pounds. This will be the Mexican icon’s 10th defense of his Ring Magazine super middleweight championship.

“I’m super happy to be making history again and this time on a Riyadh Season Card that will be broadcast on Netflix,” said Alvarez, 34. “On Sept. 13, I’m ready to show once again that I am the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.”

Crawford, The Ring’s No. 3 pound-for-pound boxer, is currently The Ring’s No. 1 boxer at 154 pounds. The 37-year-old will move up two weight classes to challenge Alvarez. In his lone fight at 154 pounds, Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) defeated Israil Madrimov in August on a Riyadh Season Card to win the WBO junior middleweight title.

“My perfect record speaks for itself. I am the best fighter in the world and no matter the opponent or weight class, I have always come out on top,” Crawford said. “On Sept. 13, my hand will be raised once again as the world watches greatness.”
