

Franklin Stops Vargas, Pagan Decisions Hilley for NABF on the Salita Promotions Detroit Card
Detroit, Michigan (May 24th, 2024)– In the main event of a four bout Salita Promotions card, heavyweight contender Jermaine Franklin Jr. won his second consecutive comeback bout, stopping Devin Vargas after six hard fought rounds at Wayne State Fieldhouse in Detroit, Michigan, on Thursday, May 23, 2024.
Power shots by Franklin, the World Boxing Organisation’s number 12 worldwide ranked heavyweight, 23-2 with 15 knockouts, Saginaw, Michigan, dropped Vargas, 22-1 with nine knockouts, Toledo, Ohio, in the fourth and sixth rounds. Vargas did not answer the bell for round seven.
In the preliminary bout to the main event, Joshua James Pagan won the vacant NABF Super Lightweight championship by hard fought eight round decision over previously undefeated southpaw Roger Hilley, now 13-1 with eight knockouts, Chattanooga, Tennessee. Pagan is now 10-0 with four knockouts, Saginaw, Michigan.
