ROBERTO DURAN GETS SUCCESSFUL PACEMAKER IMPLANT SURGERY

Panama City, Panama (March 19th, 2024)– In Panama City, Panama, International Boxing Hall of Fame retired multi division former world champion Roberto ‘Hands of Stone’ Duran, 103-16 with 70 knockouts, age 72, received a pacemaker on Monday, March 18, 2024, in Panama City, after being hospitalized in Panama City, due to irregular heartbeats caused by an arterial obstruction, according to his son Robin Duran.

“The Duran family is pleased to inform (the general public and fight fans) that, thanks to God, the surgery in our champion, a pacemaker implant, was totally successful,” in a statement posted on Roberto Duran’s Instagram account. Duran held world titles in four weight classes, retiring in 2002 at age 50.
