Here is what the participants had to say Wednesday from Fusion X-Cel Performance:

“Training camp has been great. We’ve been working hard as always. Having a camp like that and coming through with no injuries is the first big victory already.

“It means a lot to be fighting for the title. Gamebred Bareknuckle is growing very fast and it feels good to be a part of it. Being the first bareknuckle MMA heavyweight champion is going to be historic. It’s a privilege to be in this position.

“Everyone knows what to expect from me. You’re going to see the great footwork along with a lot of punches coming your way. I like to stand up and go toe-to-toe. But it’s MMA, so anything is possible. When you start feeling my power, it turns even the strikers into grapplers.”

“I feel great. My mind is clear and I’m excited to be here. All of my skills are continuing to get better and I’m feeling absolutely no pressure. I feel like I’m really gonna perform well on Saturday.

“I’ve been in there for a lot of bare fist fights. I know the grit that it takes and the mentality that’s needed. Sometimes in bareknuckle you know that you need to bite down and fight at your normal distance, but it’s a different story actually doing it for some guys. I feel like I’ve figured out the mental side of fighting bareknuckle.

“Now when I fight bareknuckle, I feel like I’m in there with 16-oz gloves on. The only time I’m reminded it’s bareknuckle is when I get touched. Then I cancel it out and start fresh. It’s a practice in my mind that I’ve got down.

“In my last fight against “Big Country” Nelson it was my first MMA fight in a long time, so I got my cage awareness back and was still able to get the win. That fight was necessary for what I’m going to do on Saturday night.”

“I feel great like I always do heading into this fight. I’m recovered from a long training camp and just getting settled in for Saturday. It’s the process we go through as fighters.

“Somebody is definitely getting knocked out in the fight. I don’t know what round, but somebody is going to sleep more than likely. It’s going to be the best fight on the card for sure.”

“It’s a blessing to be in this position. I remember waiting outside of that building for Tracy McGrady, Grant Hill and Horace Grant hoping to get an autograph. That’s the coliseum of sporting events here in Orlando. It’s a blessing to do what I love in front of the people that I love.

“Chase is a game fighter. He’s been all around the world just like I have. He’s aggressive and has a solid chin. We both fight until we’re unconscious, instead of getting hurt and quit. That’s the difference at this level. Sometimes you have guys who get a little hurt and freak out and quit. Then you have tough talented guys who go to war.

“We’re both ready to showcase our abilities at the highest level. I feel amazing. Life has made me who I am and what I am today. I’m full of energy and excited to perform.

“It’s going down Saturday. I’m feeling great. I have a great team here, we’ve had an amazing camp and now it’s time to make it happen.”
