Badr Hari to Headline GLORY 89

It is official, Badr Hari (106-16, 92 KO) will headline GLORY 89 at the Arena Burgas in Bulgaria, on October 7.

Originally set to compete at GLORY 88 in Paris earlier this month, Hari withdrew on compassionate grounds following the devastating earthquake which struck his home country of Morocco.

The kickboxing legend will now go head-to-head with Estonian power puncher Uku Jürjendal (19-8, 15 KO) with the winner qualifying for the historic GLORY Heavyweight Grand Prix this December, an eight-man one-night tournament for $500,000.

“We are excited to provide a quick turnaround and get Badr Hari back in the ring,” said Robbie Timmers, GLORY matchmaker. “Unfortunately, James McSweeney has scheduling conflicts and could not compete on the new date. As a result, Uku Jürjendal has thankfully stepped up. This will be an action-packed contest.”

Due to Badr Hari’s withdrawal from the GLORY 88 event in Paris, GLORY officials are making a special gesture to those who bought tickets and the online PPV.

All GLORY 88 ticket buyers will receive a free code to watch GLORY 89. Customers will need to submit a form to claim their PPV code – click here. Additionally, all GLORY 88 PPV buyers will receive access to watch GLORY 89 at no charge. Details will be sent to PPV purchasers.

GLORY 89 will be available to watch live around the world on and exclusively on Videoland in the Netherlands.
