The Iceman Cometh, Ex-WBC Champ Viktor Postol Returns Saturday Night in Las Vegas

 The Iceman Cometh, in what could either prove to be a final comeback run or a last hurrah. Former World Boxing Council World Super Lightweight Champion Viktor ‘Iceman’ Postol, 31-4 with 12 knockouts, Brovan, Ukraine, age 39, will return to the boxing Ring in a comeback attempt Saturday night, July 15, 2023, at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, Nevada, in a 10 rounder against Dominican veteran Elvis Rodriguez, 14-1-1 with 12 knockouts, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

 Postol lost his World Boxing Council World Super Lightweight title in July 2016 by 12 round decision in his first defense against Terence Crawford, is 2-2 in his last four bouts.

 Postol was unsuccessful in an attempt to regain his title, losing by 12 round decision to the then 25-0 WBC and WBA World Lightweight champion Jose Carlos Ramirez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in August 2020. Postol was stopped in the tenth round of a comeback attempt at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas by the then 14-0 Gary Antuanne Russell in February 2022. His opponent, Rodriguez, is coming off a three bout win streak, including a fifth round knockout of 14-0 Juan Pablo Romero at MGM Grand Las Vegas in November 2021.
