SPENCE VS. CRAWFORD IS NOW OFFICIAL!

Las Vegas, NV (May 25th, 2023)– Terrence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. agreed to a super fight for the undisputed welterweight championship on July 29 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, both fighters announced on social media Thursday. Here’s what you need to know:

The Showtime PPV bout, arguably the biggest that could be made in combat sports today, has been years in the making and features two of the top five pound-for-pound boxers in the world.

Spence, 28-0 with 22 KOs, holds the division’s WBC, WBA and IBF belts. He’s coming off a 10th-round TKO win over Yordenis Ugas in April 2022 and boasts victories over former titleholders in Danny Garcia, Shawn Porter, Mikey Garcia, Lamont Peterson and Kell Brook.

Crawford, the WBO welterweight champion, is 39-0 with 30 KOs. Though he doesn’t have the same resume as Spence, he is considered by some — following Canelo Alvarez’s loss to Dmitry Bivol in May 2022 — to be the best boxer in the world.

Crawford has finished his last eight opponents, most recently David Avanesyan via 6th-round KO last December.
