Las Vegas, NV (April 30th, 2023)– UFC Fight Night 223 (UFC on ESPN+ 81) took place Saturday from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, and MMA News has you covered with all the results and highlights!
The main event saw top-10 bantamweights Song Yadong (#8) and Ricky Simón (#10) collide. While in the co-main event, Caio Borralho took on Michał Oleksiejczuk at middleweight.

Trey Waters def. Josh Quinlan
In this welterweight bout, Trey Waters earned a convincing unanimous decision win against Josh Quinlan.
Round one saw Waters effectively check Quinlan’s leg kicks and have success with counter punches. In round two, Quinlan rocked Waters with a huge right early, but Walker responded by troubling Quinlan with his jab and successfully landing a series of combinations. Round three saw Waters land some blistering combinations, a huge right that rocked Quinlan and a takedown to round out the win. Catch the decision below.
Marcos Rogerio de Lima def. Waldo Cortes-Acosta
In this heavyweight bout, Marcos Rogerio de Lima earned his second win in a row with a unanimous decision against Waldo Cortes-Acosta.
In round one, de Lima placed Cortes-Acosta in trouble with a series of heavy leg kicks. Round two saw de Lima land another heavy leg kick that stumbled Cortes-Acosta, before getting a takedown. In round three, de Lima had success with leg kicks yet again, but Cortes-Acosta offered resistance via a consistent jab.
Fernando Padilla def. Julian Erosa
Making his UFC debut, Fernando Padilla earned a huge first-round TKO win over Julian Erosa in their featherweight clash.
Rodolfo Vieira def. Cody Brundage
In this middleweight bout, Rodolfo Vieira got back in the win column with an arm triangle submission of Cody Brundage.
In round one, Brundage sent Vieira to the canvas with a huge right, before landing blistering ground strikes, but Vieira responded by taking Brundage’s back and attempting a rear-naked choke. Then in round two, a failed guillotine attempt from Brundage saw Vieira gain top position and sink in an arm triangle to force the tap.
Caio Borralho def. Michal Oleksiejczuk
In the co-main event, Caio Borralho earned his first UFC finish with a rear-naked choke of Michal Oleksiejczuk.
In round one, Oleksiejczuk showed solid boxing, continually landing on Borralho, but the Brazilian got a late takedown to end the round on top, raining down strikes. Then in round two, Borralho got a takedown early, took Oleksiejczuk’s back, and sunk in a rear-naked choke for the win.
Song Yadong def. Ricky Simón
In the main event, Song Yadong made a statement to the bantamweight division’s top contenders with a TKO win over Ricky Simón.
In round one, Yadong dominated in the clinch while Simón had a success landing strikes and body kicks. Round two saw Yadong knock down Simón via a clash of heads, but the Chinese had further success landing left hooks, while Simón got a late takedown.
In round three, Yadong took advantage on the feet by landing a few rattling blows, but Simón also had success with his jab. Round four saw Yadong pressure Simón and knock him to the canvas right on the buzzer with a huge left. Then in the final round, Yadong sent Simón to the canvas with a huge left, before finishing him of with brutal ground strikes. Catch the highlights below.
