Tanner Marlow Killed in Christmas Eve Double Homicide, Abdul Karem Edilov Dies

Rotterdam, Netherlands (December 31st, 2022)– Christmas Eve 2022 brought sadness to the world of MMA in December 2022, when one well-known competitor, and one well-known prospect, both died under suspicious circumstances.

 Controversial former light heavyweight contender Abdul-Karem Edilov, age 31, 17-4, Grozny, Chechnya, Akhman Fight Team, inactive since his last win on UFC Fight Night 115 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, 2017, was serving as Prime Minister of Chechnya before resigning from the government several weeks ago. No cause of death was reported.

 Rising Legacy Fighting Alliance LFA light heavyweight prospect Tanner ‘The American Psycho’ Marlow, age 30, 4-0, Bakersfield, California, out of Eric Nolan’s Xtreme Fighting Center, has died in a home invasion shootout. Marlow reportedly was at a home in his hometown of Bakersfield, California, when an armed man forced his way into the house. Marlow was armed as well, according to a report from ABC TV 23 in Bakersfield, and the resulting shootout between the two resulted in Marlow’s death, as well as the break-in armed attacker Jacob Malena. The police report said Malena forced his way into the home where his estranged girlfriend lived, found Marlow was there, shots were exchanged and the result was both men died in a double homicide.

 Iridium Sports Agency, which represented Marlow, released the following statement: “We (at Iridium Sports Agency) are heartbroken over the tragic passing of our Team Iridium brother, Tanner Marlow. Tanner is remembered fondly as one of the most promising (current) unbeaten prospects in the sport of MMA, and a very proud family man. Tanner is missed greatly, and we extend our sincerest condolences and prayers to his family, friends, and team at this difficult time.”
