At issue is the magical World Boxing Council World Heavyweight championship belt won by Ali, known for his political views, stance against the Vietnam War, and practice of Islam as a member of the Black Muslims under the late Elijah Wallace Muhammad, which cost him his boxing license for several years, until the United States Supreme Court unanimously reinstated it.
On Sunday, July 24, 2022. Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay confirmed he had purchased Ali’s World Boxing Council World Heavyweight championship belt won from George Foreman for 6.18 million dollars at auction from Heritage Auctions.
