Erie, PA (July 26th, 2022)– Promoter Ernie Bizzarro and Bizzarro Promotions hosted “Clash at the Casino”, a spectacular Boxing and MMA Pro-Am card on Saturday evening, July 23, 2022, in Erie, Pennsylvania, at Presque Isle Downs Casino Erie, featuring two pro boxing bouts, two amateur boxing exhibitions, 12 amateur MMA bouts, and one pro MMA bout.

In the pro boxing main event, Erie lightweight Anthony Bizzarro, the latest entry in the famed family of boxing Bizzarros (remember Lou Bizzarro against Roberto Duran? After attending his nephew Anthony’s bout and the Erie card, Lou then drove to Philadelphia where he was inducted into the Pennsylvania Boxing Hall of Fame on Sunday July 24, 2022) went to 4-0 with three knockouts, and scored a stoppage win at one second of the third round when referee Chris Rifkis decided 2-7 Shawn Rall of Bedford, Ohio had taken enough punishment and did not let him out for the third round.

In the preliminary bout to the main event, super lightweight Mike Vega of Niagara Falls, New York, won his pro debut with a unanimous decision win over 0-6 David Boria of Erie, Pennsylvania. Vega dropped Boria in the first round, who never regained his rhythm. Boria won by scores of 40-35, 40-35, and 40-35 across the board. The heavyweight pro debut of Nicholas Bizzarro of Erie, an experienced D-1 football player at the University of Maine, which was supposed to be the opening boxing bout on the card, was cancelled when debuting opponents Jon Tuxford of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, who pulled out, and then Cody Kelley of Toledo, Ohio was a no-show. Maria Antunez of Honduras, a 118 pound female, was also supposed to debut, but settled for a three round exhibition with Pittsburgh’s Brittany Bickhart. Mitch Geles also found a three round exhibition against Matthew Acosta.

In the pro MMA bout, flyweight Freddie Rodriguez stopped Victor Guarriello of Erie, Pennsylvania, by technical knockout after the first round.
