COMBATE GLOBAL WEIGH-IN RESULTS FOR TOMORROW, SUNDAY, MAY 29 ON PARAMOUNT+

MIAMI – May 28, 2022 – All five scheduled Combate Global Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) bouts are official for tomorrow, Sunday May 29 in Miami, Fla., following weigh-ins, which took place today.

Paramount+ coverage of the event will begin with a Combate Global pre-show at 9:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. CT, and will continue with the fight action, beginning at 10:00 p.m. ET/9:00 p.m. CT.

The show will be headlined by the previously announced main event between reigning Combate Global World Bantamweight (135 pounds) Champion David “The Black Spartan” Martinez (6-1) and fellow knockout artist Arturo “El Makako” Vergara (2-0 MMA; 3-1 Kickboxing).

The Martinez-Vergara matchup will be contested as a non-title fight.  Should Vergara emerge victorious, he will become the Combate Global co-number one bantamweight contender with Ireland’s Frans Mlambo, Martinez’s original opponent, who withdrew from the fight due to an abdominal injury.

Martinez of Mexico City, Mexico weighed in today at 135.2 pounds, while Vergara of Los Andes, Chile via Miami missed weight by .2 pounds after tipping the scales at 136. 2 pounds.

In the previously announced, featured women’s 110-pound catchweight fight, Jade Jorand (0-2; 1-0 Kickboxing) of Bordeaux, France registered a weight of 109.8 pounds, while her opponent, Marina Sanchez (0-0) of Barcelona, Spain weighed in at 108 pounds.

Tino Gilaranz  (4-2) of Madrid, Spain weighed in at 146 pounds and his opponent,  Chris Boasso (3-2) of Miami  registered a weight of 145.8 pounds for their featured featherweight (145 pounds) fight.
