Wladimir Klitschko Worst Nightmare Interview: The Reality of War Never Stops

Kyiv, Ukraine (April 19th, 2022)– Former World Heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, in a new interview with Yahoo France, described the killings of innocent civilians in Bucha as “The worst nightmare: he has ever seen or experienced in his lifetime.

Klitschko described the horrors of bearing witness to the deaths of defenseless, innocent men, women and children. “I have seen many, many civilians that have been tortured before they got killed. My experience was like a nightmare, but where a nightmare is something that comes at night and goes because there is the next day, the reality of war (which Ukraine is not engaged in, which is a continuous reality of life and death involving soldiers and civilians) never stops.”

Wladimir, a true boxing gentleman who appreciates the concept of a fair fight, described the terms and conditions of war as anything but. “I could not imagine (in this world, in my lifetime) seeing so much blood of young women, men, and elderly people, (cruelly killed) on their knees, with their hands tied behind their back and executed by being shot in the head.”

Wladimir, being candid, said the things (atrocities) he saw in Bucha he could not have imagined as being in his worst nightmares. Even the gonzo journalism of the late reality writer Hunter Thompson could not have been so horrifying in depiction in description. Wladimir’s surreal experiences sound like something out of a Hollywood “Night of the Living Dead” movie, and what makes Wladimir’s bearing witness even the more incredible is what he saw is in fact true, a cold cruel stark reality of the effects of war in the 21st century, an illogic with reason or description, signifying madness.

Wladimir graphically described cars full of dead civilians which had the word ‘children’ written on them, and saw cars with civilians inside them flattened by Russian tanks in the road. “War, in my mind, is the worst nightmare. I could not imagine (in my wildest dreams) that war is so reckless (in its reckless disregard for human life), so inhumane.”

In Kyiv, where Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko are active defenders in the Ukrainian Defense Forces, Kyiv, Ukrainian forces have uncovered evidence of mass killings and brutality inflicted upon the civilian populations in the occupied surrounding areas as Russian Special Forces retreated from the geographical area.
