Ukrainian, three-time European, and World Amateur Light Heavyweight champion Stefan Hrakul, of Shypyntsi, Ukraine, is the Real Combat Media Prospect of Month for March 2022. 32-18 as an amateur, and now 1-0 as a pro, Hrakul is affiliated with Michigan based Dmitriy Salita and Salita Promotions.
Rated as a top 25 amateur in his weight class during his entire amateur career, Hrekul made it to the Light heavyweight Olympic Games qualifying matches at Le Grande Dome in Villebon, France, in June 2021, but Hrakul, fighting with two broken hands, lost a decision to Loren Alfonzo. After defeating Emmet Brennan by decision in his first match at the 2021 Standja Memorial Tournament, Hrekul broke both of his hands in his next match in the tournament against Russian Ruslan Kolesnikov. No specialist was available in Ukraine to repair the hands, so microscopic surgery was eventually arranged in Tashkent, Uzbekistan with international specialists, enabling Hrekul to resume his boxing career.
Hrekul went professional in October 2021, winning a four round decision over 13 bouts veteran Vladyslav Tansiura at Rovesnyk Hall in Kiev, Ukraine. Hrekul was immediately world-ranked inside the top half of all professional light heavyweight boxers in the world on BoxRec. He plans on continuing his boxing career in the United States in Detroit, Michigan under the guidance of promoter Dmitriy Salita and Salita Promotions general manager Eugene Ryvkin.
