Vietnamese Boxing News: Bantamweight Thao ‘Trigger’ Tran Wins By KO in Ho Chi Minh City

 Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (January 3rd, 2022)– In the main event of a four-bout card promoted by Trigger Promotions on Sunday, January 2, 2021, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Vietnamese bantamweight prospect Van Thao “The Trigger” Tran scored a second round knockout of Thailand’s previously unbeaten Boonrueang Phayom.

Tran, 14-1 with nine knockouts, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, knocked out visiting undefeated Phayom, now 9-1 with nine knockouts, Nakhon Phayom, Thailand, midway through the second round at 2:15 of the second, full ten count. Referee: Hoa Binh Nguyen.

The three bout undercard featured five pro debuts in three bouts. 2-0 super middleweight prospect Van Hieu Pham of Thia Binh, Vietnam, won a four rounds decision over debuting Sean Anthony Duffy of Ireland. Lightweight Tran Minh Trai Pham of Ba Ria, Vietnam, won his pro debut by four rounds decision over debuting Thanh Phuc Luong of Ho Chi Minh City. Debuting lightweight Van Sanh Ho of Binh Minh, Vietnam won a four round decision over debuting Tran Trieu Bui of Binh Da, Vietnam.
