
Navarette Retains WBO Title, All Seven ‘A’ Side Fighters Win on ESPN+ San Diego Card

San Diego (October 17th, 2021)– All seven fighters on the “A’ side won on the ESPN + televised boxing card held at Pechanga Arena, San Diego, California, on Friday evening, October 15, 2021. In the main event, Emmanuel Navarette, 35-1 with 29 knockouts, San Juan Zitlaltepec, Mexico, won a unanimous 12 round decision over Joet Gonzalez, 24-2 with 14 knockouts, Los Angeles, California, to retain the World Boxing Organisation World Featherweight title.
Navarette threw 979 punches, an average of 82 punches per round, landing 272 punches of which 204 were power shots. Gonzalez, who landed 169 of 667 punches, countered well but did not match the offensive barrage of Navarette. Gonzalez thought he had won, but was caught throwing a number of low blows. Gonzalez was not penalized, but regardless did not match the offensive output of Navarette.
Result: Emmanuel Navarette Win 12 Joet Gonzalez, Featherweights
Navarette retains WBO World Featherweight title. Gonzalez warned twice for low blows.
