Las Vegas, NV (May 21st, 2021)– Eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao announced on social media on Friday and announced that he’s fighting WBC, IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence on August 21 in Las Vegas, in a Fox Sports Pay-Per-View main event.

Pacquiao, 42-years-old, has been inactive since July of 2019, when he won a tough twelve round split decision over unbeaten Keith Thurman to capture the WBA welterweight title.

Due to his inactivity, the WBA removed Pacquiao from championship position and made him the “champion in recess.” Yordenis Ugas replaced him as the WBA’s “super” champion at 147-pounds.

The undefeated Spence was in action earlier this year, when he outboxed two-division champion Danny Garcia over twelve rounds for a unanimous decision win.
