RCM Boxing Prospect of Month of March 2021 – Undefeated Australian Lightweight Liam Par

By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent

20-0 Australian super lightweight southpaw Liam Paro is the Real Combat Media prospect of the month for March 2021. Paro, 20-0 with 13 knockouts, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, turned pro in March 2016 with a four-round decision win over Jacob Mahony in Mansfield, Australia.

Paro has yet to be seen outside his native Australia. In 2019, Paro, a fine technical fighter, scored 10 round decision wins over Massimiliano Ballisai, Fatih Keles, and Hwang Kil Kim. Since then, he has fought twice. In March 2020, Paro stopped 17-0 James Cheriji in the eighth round at The Star in Gold Coast, Australia. One year later, this past weekend, on Friday, March 5, 2021, Paro stopped Terry Tzouramanis in the seventh round at Eatons Hill Hotel in Eaton, Australia. Tzouramanis went down in the sixth round from a body shot, beat the count, but did not answer the bell for round seven.

Paro currently holds the World Boxing Organization Global and the International Boxing Federation International regional super lightweight titles, and his star has risen into the world rankings. Paro needs to be tested at the twelve-round world-class level in the near future. Paro is ranked second in the world by the World Boxing Organization and is ranked third in the world currently by the International Boxing Federation. Visa restrictions during the COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus period may severely restrict the ability of foreign prospects like Paro to travel to Europe and the Americas for world title bouts and eliminators, but hopefully in the months to come Paro will be able to fight a major step up bout which will determine his future in the highly competitive 140 pounds super lightweight division.
