Las Vegas, NV (June 17th, 2020)– Boxing is back. Who wins, however, is sometimes not the expected outcome. Often times, number one contenders fall. World Boxing Organization number one contender Joshua Greer Jr. is the latest.
In the theatre of the unexpected, super bantamweight Magic Mike Plania, 24-1 with 12 knockouts, General Santos City, Philippines, dropped 19-0 Joshua Greer in the first and sixth rounds and came away with an upset ten round majority decision on ESPN”s Tuesday Night Fights over Joshua Greer Jr., 22-2-1 with 12 knockouts, Chicago, Illinois, at The Bubble at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, on June 16, 2020.
Plania, a former sparring partner of WBO World Bantamweight champion John Riel Casimero, outworked Greer throughout the contest and clearly deserved the win. Greer needed a knockout to win after getting knocked down twice, and could not overcome the scorecards.
