By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent

Chihuahua, Mexico (November 17th, 2019)– Mexico is home to some of the world’s best world boxing champions. Mexico is also home to some of the world’s most beautiful women. On rare occasions in professional boxing, the two mix, and what you get is a lethal combination. Finally, the female boxing world has a legitimate world champion who perhaps can give the multi-divisional and multi-talented Amanda Serrano a run for her money.

Yamileth ‘Yeimi’ Mercado, age 21, 15-2 with four knockouts, Ciudad Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua, Mexico, is the Canelo Alvarez of the boxing Mexican ladies. On November 16th, 2019, at Poliforium at Ciudad Cuauhtemoc, Mercado won a 10 rounds decision over Fatuma Zarika to win the World Boxing Council World Female Super Bantamweight Championship, a significant achievement.

Mercado defeated Zarika in her second championship try against Zarika, to win the WBC female super bantamweight world title, and rising to second in the world in the BoxRec ratings at 21. Future matches with world-class female fighters Jackie Nava, Marcela Ariana Acuna, and Jessica Arreguin Munoz are now on the horizon, and higher now.

A brutal punching hard hitter, Yeimi Mercado is ‘The Beautiful Terror’. She has made her statement on the female boxing world as a force to be reckoned with, all of a sudden.
