Josh Parisian Wins CLIP MMA Heavyweight Title at MotorCity Casino in Detroit

 In the main event of an eleven bout MMA card promoted to by Carlos Llinas CLIP Promotions at MotorCity Casino Soundboard, on Friday evening, October 19, 2019, heavyweight Josh Parisian scored a first-round knockout of Charles Brown to win the vacant CLIP Detroit MMA Heavyweight title.



Parisian, 9-3, Escanaba, Michigan, knocked out Brown, 4-4, Flint, Michigan, with a nonstop volley of accurate power shots to the face with both hands, a demonstration of pure boxing skill which sent a bloodied Brown down and out.

Result: Josh Parisian KO 1 Charles Brown, heavyweights (1:44)

Michael Gillmore KO 1 Kenneth Hunt McGowan, 145 pounds (1:39)

Preliminary bout to the main event. 4-3 Gillmore takes out 2-2-1 Hunt.



 

Kaelen Doan (Pro Debut) KO 1 Alex Morgan (Pro Debut), 115 pound females (1:45)

Here’s one for the ladies. Both women debut. Nasty crowd pleasing scrap while it lasted.

 

Sean Dunn KO 1 Cody Baker, 155 pounds (0:47)

 

Darious Morris (Pro Debut) No Contest 2 Gary Edwards, 155 pounds (1:17)

Edwards was warned was warned for kicking Morris in the groin in round one.

Morris, who survived a lengthy chokehold to get out of round one, accidently elbowed Edwards behind the head while he was on top of him after a takedown in round two. Edwards remained face down and did arise after the blow. Referee and ringside doctor stop contest as a result. This was the one of only two bouts to make it past the first round.



 

Justin Street TKO 2 Jermon Houck, 135 pounds (1:13)

A great deal of hateful exchange at the prefight weigh-in led to an exciting contest,

while it lasted. After the bout, Houck continued to exchange verbal ‘words’ with Street.

 

Joel Harkey KO 1 Eric Jacks, 135 pounds (0:12)

Harkey pinpoint right kick, followed by power left hand punch, ends contest in 12 seconds.

 

Dave Foster (Pro Debut) Choke Out 1 Eriyon Adams, 155 pounds (1:04)

Some people have no respect for experienced fighters.

 

Jose Prieto KO 1 Joel Berman, 155 pounds (0:38)

2-1 Prieto made short work of 0-3 winless Berman in 38 seconds.

 

Keena James Gossellin KO 1 Trenten McKowen (Pro Debut), 155 pounds

0-4 Gosselin ruins pro debut of McKowen. Opening bout of the MMA card.
